HOLY WEEK & EASTER 2020

MAUNDY THURSDAY

April 9 at 7:00 pm
Streamed LIVE and saved for later viewing
The main altar will be stripped and an Altar of Repose set up in the Fireside Room with the Reserve Sacrament for those who want to come and 'sit with Jesus' in remembrance of Jesus' agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.  Keeping watch at the Altar of Repose with the Reserve Sacrament through the night is meant to reenact the disciples keeping watch with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.  The Altar of Repose will be open until midnight this year.  If you would like to sign up for a one hour time slot from any time after the service until midnight, please call the church office.  If you are in the Fireside Room with anyone else please practice proper distancing.

GOOD FRIDAY

April 10 at 12:00 noon
Streamed LIVE and saved for later viewing
Notice the start time for this service.  According to Mark 15:25-37 Jesus was crucified at 9:00 am and then the sky went dark from noon until 3:00 pm.  Therefore, it has long been traditional to have Good Friday services at noon, marking the beginning of the sky going dark.  In some churches they actually do a three-hour long service commemorating those last three hours of Jesus' life.  Our service won't be like that.  Ours will be the normal Good Friday service but at this traditional time.

HOLY SATURDAY + THE GREAT LITANY (not the Vigil)

April 11 at 9:00 am
Streamed LIVE and saved for later viewing
We will not be doing an Easter Vigil in the evening this year.  This service will be a combination of the short Holy Saturday liturgy (BCP 283) and The Great Litany (BCP 148 ff.)

EASTER MORNING

April 12 at 9:00 am
Streamed LIVE and saved for later viewing
We will be combining elements of the Easter Vigil liturgy with our Sunday morning worship this year.
